Thanks to all of the paddlers and their families who showed support to the "Kaw!" There were 27 paddlers who participated in both the challenge and the tour.

It was a great event with a great group of people on a great section of the Kaw for a great cause...however, the river level and the weather wasn't so great. I have to admit the thunder rumbles an hour prior to the event had me a tad worried and the wind could have been a little less temperamental...but this is Kansas! 

A special thanks to Mike Calwell of the Kansas River Keepers for being there at the start and speaking as well as starting the challenge in his Lewis & Clark attire shooting his period rifle. To Laura, Heidi and Christina and Matt's mother for their help at the start and finish and to Charlie Lockwood of Thetis Paddles....very much appreciated.
